D-TAR Gives Acoustic Guitarists a Boost Adds a Voltage Booster Circuit to their Popular Timber-Line Pickup For Immediate ReleaseTuesday, December 21, 2004 Contact:
Evan Skopp D-TAR will now ship their Timber-Line with an 18-volt power supply that derives 18 volts from two standard AA batteries! The secret is a proprietary voltage converter circuit that mounts next to the battery clip. It’s fully shielded and it’s around the size of a postage stamp. The new battery booster has several advantages over the old double 9-volt system. It’s smaller and lighter, taking up less space and adding less weight to the instrument. AA batteries are less expensive than 9 volts, resulting in lower operating cost to the end user. But most incredibly, the new Timber-Line will deliver an amazing 250 hours of continuous usage from a pair of AAs. Though in release for barely two years, Timber-Line is currently used by top acoustic guitar artists such as David Crosby, Graham Nash, and Muriel Anderson; and is original equipment in ultra-high-end guitar offerings from Jeff Traugott, Paul McGill, Mario Beauregard, and, of course, Rick Turner. According to Kevin Beller, D-TAR Chief Engineer, “In response to customer requests, we took a very high quality pickup and made it better.” D-TAR also offers other pickups and off-board electronics for acoustic musicians. See d-tar.com for more information on their complete offerings. # # # # |
