Korg
Pitch Black Tuner
Having recently
purchased a Blues Junior Valve amplifier, I’ve had an itch to
build a pedal board to go with it. My usual gigging rig for
my cover band simply consists of a Line 6 Flextone
III Plus and a FBV Shortboard, so this new setup is quite a departure for me.
It will be mainly
used at my home studio and for recording; I have however already
gigged this setup with great results.
The Pitch Black
is a new floor pedal based tuner from Korg
with many features found in higher end tuners at many times
the cost.
Standard features include, true bypass to keep your tone unmodified
and several display modes including full and half strobe. The
LED based display is bright and easy to read and its broad detection
range will allow tuning of most instruments.
The unit is power
by the usual 9 volt battery (supplied) or can also be powered
by an external adapters such as a 1 spot or similar. It also
sports an output jack for cascading the power to other pedals.
Construction is
of a high standard with the body been made of die cast aluminum.
I’ve already used
the pedal in several live situations and if certainly lives
up well to its advertised product features.
An excellent, value for money product.
